Purpose of these guides
Many people, especially those new to the Novell world, do not fully understand what can be accomplished with Novell solutions. Nor do they know where to start when it comes to finding out how to accomplish otherwise routine tasks. These guides are created based on best practices and methods used by Marvin Huffaker Consulting, Inc. on a daily basis. They tell you what you need to do, why you need to do it, and most importantly, how to do it correctly. Note that this is a work in progress.

BEYOND COMPARE
Beyond Compare is by far the BEST utility out there for comparing one file system to another. Use it for copying, comparing, and mirroring a file structure. It even compares the contents of individual files. Use it during all migrations or consolidations so you can be sure that you've got all the files. Nothing else compares. www.scootersoftware.com

AUTOIT
AUTOIT is a simple yet powerful scripting software that allows you to create a script and compile it to an EXE format. This allows you to easily run a complex script via login script, ZENworks application, batch file, etc. We use AUTOIT extensively when deploying ZENworks. http://www.autoitscript.com

DAEMON TOOLS
DAEMON TOOLS is a great utility that allows you to mount CD and DVD ROM Images (ISO format) on your workstation. It makes them appear as any other drive letter. Its very small and lightweight. Since most of Novell's software now comes in ISO format, DAEMON TOOLS allows you to use the ISO's without having to burn them to CD. Great time saver.http://www.daemon-tools.cc

ADREM FREE REMOTE CONSOLE
AFREECON is a remote console utility for NetWare Servers. It's quick, simple, and much better than than RCONSOLE or RCONJ. Must have for anyone that manages servers. Jump around easily to any server in the tree, and easily select the screen you want to view. www.adremsoft.com

BOOTDISK.COM
BOOTDISK.COM has downloadable floppy boot images of most operating systems including DOS. Extremely useful in a Novell environment when you need to work with or repair the DOS partition. www.bootdisk.com
