This can be done with either a browser using the GroupWise 8 Webaccess client or with a Windows, Linux, or Mac based GroupWise client. GroupWise 8 - Things you need to know.

  • The GroupWise engine is cross platform. GroupWise (server agents) can be installed on Linux, Windows, or Netware (or a combination of all three - it doesn't matter).
  • GroupWise runs great on your existing hardware and it doesn't require a "forklift upgrade" to implement. GroupWise performance is excellent on 32 bit hardware and can also run on 64 bit platforms.
  • GroupWise Clients are also cross platform. The GroupWise 8 client can be installed on Linux, Mac, and Windows. Additionally, a browser based WebAccess client can be run with Firefox or Internet Explorer.
  • With GroupWise licensing, you don't have to pay separate for a client license or operating system license. It comes with licenses for Suse Linux, and the client licenses are included for one low price.
  • GroupWise follows industry standards for SMTP mail protocol and communicates flawlessly with other email systems. It can also be configured to use other standard protocols, including iCal, SOAP, LDAP, IMAP, POP3, and more.
  • GroupWise is highly secure and can be configured with end-to-end 128-bit SSL encryption and SSL enabled LDAP for authentication. Nothing beats GroupWise security!
  • GroupWise is highly scalable and can grow as large as necessary to meet your business needs. It's common for large GroupWise implementations to hold 20,000 mailboxes or more. And GroupWise also works well for smaller companies with a few hundred mailboxes or less.
  • The total cost of implementation for a GroupWise system, even if migrating from another mail system, is typically much less than other popular mail systems such as Lotus Notes or Microsoft Exchange.
  • GroupWise has a reputation for being a high performance email system that is extremely stable and secure. It takes less manpower to manage, and reduces the total cost of ownership.
